If the issue is not resolved, performing a driver reinstallation would be the next step. Repeat the process once more for good measure and try sending another print job to the printer to see if the issue is resolved. Once the printer boots up, while still holding the power button, press the Resume button twice. Then, hold the power button on the printer while plugging the power cord back into your device. As is the case with almost all Canon printers, this is done by unplugging all of the wired connections into the printer, including the data ones. To resolve the issue the first order of business would be to reset the printer properly.

To clean the waste ink pad, you need to open the ink cartridge cover and wait for the cartridges to reach their service position. If the issue is not resolved, chances are you can solve it by cleaning the waste ink pad, as this can get stained rather easily. Turn the printer off and on again and try another print job to see if this resolved your case of Canon error 5B00. You will know when this occurs as the printer will light up all of the signal lights. While holding the power button, plug the power cord back into the wall socket and wait until the printer initiates a reset procedure. You need to unplug the power cable and all data cables from the printer, unlatch the cartridge cover and push the Power button.

Before anything else, it is recommended to reset the waste ink counter, which is a simple procedure to do. In general, the 5B00 error does not represent a major problem for your Canon G2000 printer or any other model, and will not cost a fortune to fix. To resolve the issue there are a couple of things you can do on your own. Interestingly enough, the issue only appears if you try to print, the printer will boot up normally as if nothing was wrong. The reason behind the 5B00 error is either an improper ink cartridge being used or an issue with the waste ink counter.
